The toll road Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, on Saturday, June 13th, 2015.
This longest toll road in Indonesia (116.75 km) is part of the the 1,193 km Trans Java toll road system. Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road will connect 5 regions in West Java, namely Purwakarta, Subang, Indramayu, Majalengka and Cirebon.
The operation of this toll road is expected to reduce the traffic congestion in the northern coast route traffic up to 40%-60% so that the traffic during the home comming stream in the Lebaran holidays this year will be much smoother.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing M. Basuki Hadimuljono said “The operation of Cikopo- Palimanan toll road is very important in supporting local and national economic development because it can increase the effectiveness and efficiency in the business world. With good infrastructure, the cost of production, transportation, communications, and logistics will be more efficient.”
Cipali toll road is operated by PT Lintas Marga Sedaya (LMS), with a 35-year concession. This toll road has been financed by a syndication 22 banks and financial institutions, including PT SMI.
