PT SMI CSR Program to Supports MSMEs Upgrading
The Bari Health Center is the only health center in Macang Pacar District and serves as many as 10,156 people from 9 villages in the sub-district. Every month, this Health Center receives 250 outpatients and 10 inpatients.
As the spearhead of local community health services, the Bari Health Center has not been able to provide optimal health services due to the lack of stable access to electricity at night.
Therefore, PT SMI through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program provided assistance in the form of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) for the Bari Health Center which is located in Macang Pacar District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This PLTS assistance was inaugurated directly by the Regent of West Manggarai, Edistasius Endi on (01/03).
This assistance is the result of PT SMI's collaboration with the Yayasan Pelita Khatulistiwa through the Electricity Joint Venture movement, a crowdfunding movement to develop access to electricity with renewable energy in Health Center and villages that have limited 24-hour access to electricity.
With this PLTS, it is hoped that it can help the Bari Health Center improve its health services for the community, especially handling emergencies at night which require a source of electricity for lighting.
In addition, this PLTS is also to support the government's efforts to realize a Bright Indonesia, namely the electricity supply program from the government initiated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as to support efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.
