PT SMI's CSR Program Supports the Availability of Drinking Water for Labuan Bajo Community

PT SMI through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities has initiated the "Clean Drinking Water Impact Investing Model" program for communities around Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), in order to fulfill the provision of clean water. This program was inaugurated by the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT SMI - Ramona Harimurti as a representative of PT SMI's Management, on (23/08).

In this program that synergizes with Dompet Dhuafa, Manna Indonesia Group, and BPO Labuan Bajo Flores, PT SMI provided assistance worth IDR 2.8 billion for the purchase of a clean water treatment machine unit ready to drink with environmental-friendly 4.0 Water to Water technology. To ensure its sustainability, an empowerment program is also carried out for the community through assistance to BUMDes Batu Cermin for drinking water management, so that in the future it can provide economic benefits for the community.

Through this ready-to-drink healthy water availability program, it is hoped that it can help reduce the prevalence of stunting in NTT, and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets in Indonesia.
