Halal Bihalal with Stakeholders: Kembali ke Fitrah

In line with the spirit of PT SMI, namely Semangat Membangun Indonesia, a Halal Bihalal event was held with Stakeholders entitled “Kembali ke Fitrah” at Ayana, Jakarta (6/20). This event of all stakeholders that intersected with PT SMI was attended directly by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Sri Mulyani Indrawati as the shareholder and provider of direction for PT SMI.

The Minister of Finance welcomed the joining of Mr. Agus Martowardojo in the Board of Commissioners of PT SMI and congratulated on the appointment of Mr. Edwin Syahruzad, Director of Financing and Investment of PT SMI to become Acting as President Director of PT SMI. “You may think you’ve done your best. But, the best is never enough. So keep pushing yourself to be the best”, said Minister of Finance in her keynote speech.

With the new Board of Commissioners and Directors, PT SMI invites all stakeholders to strengthen their steps and work together to create innovations that enable the acceleration of infrastructure development in Indonesia.

Changes of the Board of Commissioners of PT SMI

Minister of Finance (“Minister”) as the Shareholder of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (“PT SMI”) has stipulated as follows:

  1. Minister of Finance Decree No. 322/KMK.06/2019 dated April 5th 2019 on The Termination of President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner and Appointment of President Commissioner of PT SMI which stipulates among others:

(i) To dismiss with respect Mr. Mahendra Siregar as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner with gratitude for all of his contributions and thoughts during his tenure.

(ii) To appoint Mr. Wahyu Utomo as President Commissioner with the same nature as his nature as the Commissioner of PT SMI or stipulated otherwise with the prevailing laws and regulations.

  1. Minister of Finance Decree No. 466/KMK.06/2019 dated May, 31st 2019 on The Appointment of Independent Commissioner of PT SMI which stipulates among others:

(i) To appoint Mr. Agus D.W. Martowardojo as Independent Commissioner of PT SMI with the tenure since May, 31st 2019 until the end of the tenure as stipulated in the Minister of Finance Decree No. 277/KMK.06/2014 dated July, 8th 2014.

Changes of the Board of Directors of PT SMI on May 29th, 2019

In related to the resignation of Ms. Emma Sri Martini as President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (“PT SMI”) dated May 29th 2019, therefore with reference to the Article of Association of PT SMI, the Board of Commissioners of PT SMI through Letter of the Board of Commissioners Number: S-24/SMI/DK/0519 dated May 29th 2019 on Appointment of the Temporarily Acting as President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), appoint Mr. Edwin Syahruzad, Director of PT SMI, to temporarily acting as President Director of PT SMI.

Break Fasting with Ministry of Finance’s SMV, Presents Sinergi Membangun Negeri

PT SMI as one of the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles (Ministry of Finance’s SMV) together with other Ministry of Finance’s SMVs such as LMAN, Geo Dipa Energi, PT PII, PT SMF, LPEI, and IIF realize synergy in the Holy Month of Ramadhan 1440 Hijrah by holding the Fast Breaking with the Ministry Finance and Ministry of Finance’s SMV with the theme “Hadirkan Sinergi Membangun Negeri”.

The event took place casually opened with interactive entertainment playing angklung together; then continued reading the Qur’an; cultum; activity report from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Hadiyanto; providing assistance to 20 children representing the Putera Nusa Foundation; and remarks from the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Breaking the fast together is accompanied by the commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an which is an important event of the descent of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. The event is marked by the first verse which reads “iqra`bismi rabbikallażī khalaq” which means “Read by the name of your Lord who created”.

Recalling the verse Sri Mulyani Indrawati advised that we must be people who always observe and use our inner and intellectual abilities to understand things. This capability is very important for all Ministry of Finance employees to carry out the task of safeguarding state finances and becoming an institution that has a mission to create a just and prosperous society. In addition, Sri Mulyani Indrawati also motivated all the guests present to collaborate and create better synergy to contribute to the nation and the country.

Thank you Ministry of Finance’s SMV for the incredible synergy! Hopefully we will all be given the opportunity to meet again with the next Ramadan and become a blessing for all of us.

Encouraging Sustainability in Regional Development, PT SMI Funds Infrastructure in South Kalimantan and Bengkulu

PT SMI’s efforts as one of the Special Mission Vehicles of Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance’s SMV) in encouraging regional infrastructure development continues. During its 10 years of existence, PT SMI has supported 25 Regional Governments in municipal financing and currently PT SMI is increasing its support by providing financing facilities to 2 new Local Governments, namely the Banjarbaru City Government, South Kalimantan and the Kepahiang Regency Government, Bengkulu.

In this collaboration, PT SMI supports Kepahiang Regency Government by financing the increase of 4 regency road sections and 2 bridges with a total funding of Rp59.9 billion which is targeted to be completed by 2020. In this project, PT SMI also contributes to project preparation (Detailed Engineering Design or DED Project) through the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund – Project Development Facility scheme (RIDF-PDF).

Meanwhile, PT SMI also supported the Banjarbaru City Government by financing the construction of a modern market with a financing value of Rp104.5 billion. The market which is targeted to be completed in 2020 will increase capacity from 569 to 819 traders.

PT SMI through the Municipal Financing Division has provided financing facilities of Rp4.4 trillion to the local governments, which are 78% in Central & Eastern Indonesia to boost infrastructure development in their regions. This is inseparable from the strong support of shareholders and all stakeholders as well as the smart efforts of SMIers (PT SMI employees) in realizing regional development that has encouraged the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.

Ministry of Finance’s SMV Synergy Supports the Realization of Connectivity of 149,400 Public Service Points

The Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles (Ministry of Finance’s SMV) namely PT SMI and PT PII work together to support the Ministry of Communication and Information and BAKTI to realize Multifunctional Satellite/the Republic of Indonesia’s Satellite project (“SATRIA”).

SATRIA is one of the National Strategic Projects implemented through the Public–Private Partnership scheme (PPP) with Availability Payment patterns for the 15-year concession period. The benefit of this scheme is that the Government can reduce the burden on the state budget and increase the interest of private investment.

PT SMI as Lead Transaction Advisor has successfully escorted the project starting from Final Business Case preparation, preparation of auction documentation, and transaction assistance to the determination of auction winners. This success is a real reflection of the quality of the business pillar Advisory Services of PT SMI in structuring projects that can be welcomed by investors, especially international investors.

The SATRIA project is an effort to resolve connectivity issues at 149,400 public service points. It consists of educational facilities, local government, defense and security administration and health facilities in all regions of Indonesia, especially in the 3T (Left Behind, Leading, and Outermost) and border areas that will support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.

Strengthen Legal Aspects for Regional Financing, PT SMI Conducts Information Dissemination Event Together With Kejati and Kejari

During its 10 years of journey, PT SMI has always maintained its integrity and mitigated legal risk in accelerating Indonesia’s infrastructure development. One of them was realized through the event of “Information Dissemination of the Acceleration of Regional Infrastructure Development to the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) & District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) in the Sulawesi region”. This event held in Makassar aimed to strengthen the understanding of legal aspects both to PT SMI and the Regional Government in the implementation of regional financing facilities.

PT SMI as the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles (Ministry of Finance’s SMV) in collaboration with the Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administration (Jamdatun) covering assistance, consideration, assistance, and other legal actions contained in the MoU to guard various legal conditions that might happen. It is hoped that through this event, Kejati and Kejari will always support optimally the acceleration of regional infrastructure development so that it can provide tangible benefits to the community.

Ministry of Finance’s SMV Synergy to Realize Renewable Energy Strengthening in Indonesia

The government targets the composition of renewable energy sources to national energy by 23% by 2025, where the geothermal sector becomes a priority sector as stated in the 2018-2027 Electricity Supply General Plan (RUPTL) issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In order to make this happen, the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles, namely PT SMI and PT PII, supported PT Geo Dipa Energi to work together to realize the strengthening of renewable energy in Indonesia.

Witnessed by Finance Minister Ibu Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PT SMI and PT Geo Dipa Energi signed a Financing Facility Letter for the construction of the Dieng Small Scale Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP). This financing facility of U$19 million from PT SMI will support PT Geo Dipa Energi to increase electricity production capacity to 270 MW by 2023.

On this occasion, PT Geo Dipa Energi also carried out symbolic groundbreaking for PLTP Unit 2 Dieng and Patuha Projects, each with a capacity of 60 MW. The overall effort is a concrete step in the synergy of the Ministry of Finance’s SMV in providing environmentally friendly energy that will mitigate the impact of climate change and in line with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PT SMI Supports Financing of Regency Road Infrastructure in Sumatra Again

Savings in vehicle operating costs, short travel times, increased mobility and accessibility that have triggered regional economic growth and other socio-economic benefits will soon be felt by residents of East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (East OKU). On April 23, 2019, the signing of Regional Financing Agreement between PT SMI and the East OKU Regency Government was held.

The Regional Financing Facility of Rp100 billion will later be used to increase 8 Regency road sections with a total length of 62 km. East OKU is known as one of the foremost and foremost regions in the province of South Sumatra which continues to improve, including in equitable development of road infrastructure which ultimately can contribute to Regional Original Income (PAD). All business processes carried out by PT SMI, including the regional infrastructure development projects, always strive to achieve the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.

Synergy between PT SMI and Dompet Dhuafa to Support the Achievement of SDGs in Indonesia

PT SMI as one of the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles (Ministry of Finance’s SMV) once again received the support and interest of cooperation from Dompet Dhuafa to strengthen the implementation of SDG Indonesia One (SIO) in Indonesia. This synergy will encourage the efforts of both parties to realize more and more infrastructure development with the insight of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the health and education infrastructure sector with a project value of more than USD8 million.

SIO is an initiative of the Ministry of Finance that was executed by PT SMI by presenting an integrated platform that combines public & private funds through the Blended Finance scheme to be channeled into infrastructure projects related to the achievement of the SDGs. SIO will enable the creation of wider benefits for Indonesia, such as: (1) mobilizing & coordinating the role of Government partners, (2) increasing access to funding sources, and (3) reducing the Government’s fiscal burden in financing various projects oriented towards achieving the SDGs.

Strengthen SDGs, PT SMI Collaborates With Bloomberg Philanthropies

PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) and Bloomberg Philanthropies have just signed a memorandum of understanding which aims to strengthen and explore collaborative opportunities in the field of capital market infrastructure, sustainable cities, government innovations, and other aspects related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said cooperation from various parties would result in more optimal SDGs. “Working together is very important. If we work alone even with full strength and determination, the results are not as much as working together. By working together not only in Indonesia but also across countries, we will make changes to achieve progress, “Sri Mulyani said in a written statement received by Kontan.co.id, Tuesday (9/4).

PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) dan Bloomberg Philanthropies baru saja meneken nota kesepahaman yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat dan mengeksplorasi peluang kolaboratif dalam bidang infrastruktur pasar modal, kota berkelanjutan, inovasi pemerintah, dan aspek lainnya terkait Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) di Indonesia.

Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani mengatakan, kerjasama dari berbagai pihak akan menghasilkan SDGs yang lebih maksimal. “Bekerja bersama-sama sangatlah penting. Kalau kita bekerja sendiri meskipun dengan kekuatan dan tekad penuh, hasilnya tidak semaksimal kalau kerja bersama. Dengan bekerja bersama tidak hanya di Indonesia tapi juga lintas negara, kita akan membuat perubahan untuk meraih kemajuan,” ujar Sri Mulyani dalam keterangan tertulis yang diterima Kontan.co.id, Selasa (9/4).

Nantinya, Bloomberg Philantropies akan memberikan bantuan teknis dan saran kepada PT SMI, bertukar ide, serta memfasilitasi diskusi bagi kepala daerah dalam pengambilan keputusan dan penerapan kebijakan untuk mengembangkan kota berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Tak hanya melakukan penandatangan nota kesepahaman, PT SMI akan bekerjasama dengan Bloomberg Philanthropies dan Perhimpunan Filantropi Indonesia (PFI) dalam menyelenggarakan sharing session di New York, untuk berbagi pengalaman dalam menerapkan program agar pencapaian pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam kerangka SDGs di Indonesia dapat terealisasi dengan baik.

Direktur Utama PT SMI Emma Sri Martini mengatakan SDG Indonesia One akan menghasilkan eksekusi penyediaan infrastruktur yang lebih baik. Dengan begitu, kebutuhan dapat diubah menjadi peluang bagi banyak pemangku kepentingan yang berpartisipasi dalam berbagai proyek infrastruktur di Indonesia.

PT SMI merupakan salah satu special mission vehicle Kementerian Keuangan. Karena itu, Menteri Keuangan terus mendukung dan mendorong PT SMI untuk menggali kesempatan kerjasama dan memperluas jaringan komitmen pendanaan yang lebih besar untuk mempercepat pembangunan infrastruktur di Indonesia.

PT SMI and Bloomberg Philanthropies Collaboration Realize Achievement of SDGs

PT SMI and Bloomberg Philanthropies signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New York on April 8, 2019 to explore collaborative opportunities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia through the SDG Indonesia One (SIO) funding platform. The scope of this cooperation includes pushing Indonesia’s capital market infrastructure, sustainable city development and government innovation which is evidence that partnerships through SDG Indonesia One have already climbed global levels.

Furthermore, Bloomberg Philanthropies, which is a leading charity foundation that focuses on community empowerment in several aspects such as education, environment, government innovation & health, will provide technical assistance, advice and ideas and facilitate discussions for the Regional Head in decision making & policy implementation for building sustainable cities in Indonesia.
