PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PERSERO) and PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance signed an agreement granting financing facility for PLTG project in Tanjung Uncang, Batam
Solok, February 17, 2025 – Another contribution of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (“Persero”) (“PT SMI”) in national development has received appreciation from the Government. The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Solok City, West Sumatra, which was built with the support of PT SMI’s Regional Loan, was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, on Monday, February 17, 2025. In addition to the Minister of Health, a number of officials were also present at the inauguration, including the Acting Regional Secretary of West Sumatra, Yozarwardi Usama Putra, the Mayor of Solok, Zul Elfian Umar, the Deputy Mayor of Solok, Ramadhani Kirana Putra, the Chairman of the Solok City DPRD, Fauzi Rusli and the Director of Public Financing and Project Development of PT SMI, Faaris Pranawa.
In his remarks, the Minister of Health appreciated the support of all parties, including PT SMI, for the operation of the RSUD, which is also known as RSUD Serambi Madinah. “On this occasion, I would like to thank all stakeholders who have supported the realization of the Serambi Madinah Regional General Hospital, starting from the planning, construction, to the inauguration process today. Hopefully this hospital can provide the best service for the people of Solok City. The central government will continue to provide assistance, but we must ensure that this assistance is used wisely for the benefit of the wider community”.
Solok City Hospital is one example of the realization of PT SMI's commitment in helping to accelerate regional infrastructure development. “PT SMI is pleased to be able to play an active role in helping the Regional Government in providing public service facilities. We certainly hope that this Hospital will provide many benefits, especially for improving health services for the people of Solok City. Hopefully this Hospital can be an example of real collaboration between the Regional Government and PT SMI in developing the region. We are ready to be a strategic partner for Regional Governments in Indonesia, in encouraging growth through impactful development”, said Faaris Pranawa, Director of Public Financing and Project Development of PT SMI.
PT SMI provided a National Economic Recovery (PEN) loan facility worth IDR 100 billion to the Solok City Government in 2021. The funds were used for the construction of the Solok City Hospital, which eventually became a referral hospital in the city. The construction of the Hospital began in 2017, initially using funds from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). However, since 2021, its construction was initiated using PT SMI's PEN loan funds, until it became operational in September 2024.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Solok, Zul Elfian Umar, was also grateful for the operation of the Solok City Hospital. "The inauguration of the Serambi Madinah Hospital is a realization of the long dream of the people of Solok City to obtain adequate health facilities, while fulfilling the right to health for every citizen. Previously, Solok City was the only area in West Sumatra that did not have a hospital. However, support for regional development from various parties has finally been able to meet the needs of the community, amidst the limited budget that we have."
Solok City Hospital has 100 beds to serve inpatients in the city. Thus, the Solok City Government can provide complete, quality and affordable health services to the community. Solok City Hospital also has a high socio-economic impact on the surrounding area, because its construction has absorbed up to 3000 local workers. In addition, the improvement of hospital facilities and services has also increased the Original Regional Income (PAD) of Solok City, and increased the acceptance of Human Resources, thereby reducing unemployment.
Solok Hospital is not the only PT SMI project that has received praise from the Central Government. On May 14, 2024, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, reviewed Konawe Hospital in Southeast Sulawesi, the construction of which received support from PT SMI. At that time, Jokowi praised the steps of the Konawe Regency Government which borrowed from PT SMI to build public service facilities. Until 2024, PT SMI has distributed financing for the construction of 77 Hospitals with a total project value of IDR 4.7 trillion. PT SMI's financing support has resulted in the addition of 2,983 beds and growth in patients served by 327,370 patients per year.
