PT Tamaris Hydro Conducts Benchmarking on the Implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Principles with PT SMI

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects are important aspects in shaping policies, objectives, and operational activities within PT SMI, in achieving more concrete sustainable development targets and realizing meaningful sustainable finance. Currently, PT SMI continues to move towards the 5P approach (People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership) which aims to drive operational efficiency, uphold high governance standards, create financially healthy, environmentally friendly, and socially aware projects.

The implementation of ESG aspects by PT SMI has been recognized and received the first ESG Provisional Rating from MSCI with an AA rating in 2024, where this rating is the highest category or Leader in a similar industry.

In connection with the commitment and implementation of the ESG standards, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, PT Tamaris Hydro, which is one of PT SMI's debtors, visited the PT SMI office at Sahid Sudirman Center. The purpose of the visit was to conduct benchmarking regarding the implementation of ESG principles and standards by PT SMI.

In the presentation and discussion, PT SMI conveyed how the implementation of ESG policies is integrated into its business activities, which includes a series of aspects including environmental issues, social issues, and corporate governance that can be considered in investing.

PT Tamaris Hydro on the same occasion also shared about how ESG management has been and will be carried out in the future. This benchmarking/sharing session is expected to increase collective knowledge and awareness about better understanding and implementation of ESG.
