PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) in collaboration with PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (SMF) supports the acceleration of the development of Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) projects in the housing sector.
Meanwhile, the focus of SMI and SMF collaboration includes capacity building, identification of support, financing schemes and PPP structure, as well as Special Mission Vehicles (SMV) collaboration for the implementation of PPP preparation and transaction support.
SMI President Director Edwin Syahruzad said the company has a mandate as a catalyst for accelerating development in Indonesia.
To support this, SMI has taken various innovative steps in finding alternative sources of funds for project financing, as well as promoting PPPs.
"We have also carried out various activities to strengthen the infrastructure ecosystem," he said in an official statement, Thursday (11/4/2021).
He hopes that this collaboration can further strengthen public understanding, as well as the infrastructure ecosystem, especially to support the implementation of PPPs in the housing supply sector.
This collaboration is also expected to further strengthen the synergy of SMV under the coordination of the Ministry of Finance in supporting development in Indonesia that can provide broad socio-economic benefits to the community.
On the same occasion, SMF President Director Ananta Wiyogo said that SMF welcomed the synergy established with SMI for housing and settlement PPP cooperation.
According to him, this is in line with the mandate of SMF's establishment in supporting decent and affordable home ownership for every Indonesian family, as well as optimizing the function and role of SMF.
"We hope that SMF can contribute to the PPP scheme, particularly related to housing and settlements, so that the community's need for decent and affordable housing can be further facilitated, as well as support the movement of the national housing industry in order to support the acceleration of the National Economic Recovery Program, especially in the housing sector," he said. In order to encourage the acceleration of infrastructure development based on the 2020-2024 RPJMN, an investment of Rp. 6,445 trillion is estimated to need to be provided to support the development of basic service infrastructure, economy, urban areas, and digital transformation.
"The housing sector as one of the basic infrastructure needs to achieve the target, where 70 percent of households can occupy decent housing in 2024," he said.
Specifically, Ananta continued, according to the policy directions and strategies for the housing sector in the 2020-2024 RPJMN, 19,900 flats, 12,000 special housing units, 700,000 self-help housing units, and 250,000 units of public housing facilities and infrastructure will be built within a period of 5 years. .
Through the joint agreement, it is hoped that synergies can be carried out to face various challenges of infrastructure development with the PPP scheme, especially in the housing sector.
In addition, this cooperation is also expected to encourage the acceleration of development to achieve the government's targets in the 2020-2024 RPJMN.
