Light Rail Financing Completes This Year
PT Sarana Multi Infrastuktur (SMI) will fund the Bayang Nyalo 3x2 megawatt (MW) mini hydro power plant project in Pesisir Regency, West Sumatra. This move supports the government's target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060.
SMI has signed a financing agreement with the contractor for the PLTM Bayang Nyalo, namely PT Bayang Nyalo Hidro (BNH), last weekend. The project, which is being worked on through a joint venture between the Hasnur Group and Syres Group, is estimated to require an investment cost of Rp 207 billion.
Director of Operations & Finance and Project Development & Consulting Services PT SMI Darwin T Djajawinata said, in financing the Bayang Nyalo PLTM Project, his party carried out the mandate as a catalyst for national development financing. This step is expected to contribute to increasing the renewable energy mix in Indonesia, especially West Sumatra.
"And equitable distribution of infrastructure development outside Java as a form of national economic recovery efforts," he said in an official statement last weekend.
The Bayang Nyalo PLTM project is the first renewable energy project for the Hasnur Group. However, the signing of the financing is expected to open up other cooperation opportunities between Hasnur Group and SMI. This is because the Hasnur Group is planning projects in other locations. This is in line with the company's commitment to be more aggressive in developing renewable energy power plants.
Separately, the Head of the Bureau of Communication, Public Information Services, and Cooperation (KLIK) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Agung Pribadi revealed, the Bayang Nyalo PLTM Project is expected to be one form of implementation of the new and renewable energy mix target of 23%. by 2025. This project is also expected to support the government's commitment to achieve the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target by 2030 and Net Zero Emission by 2060.
"This support is an important part of implementing the government's agenda to complete the new renewable energy mix target in 2025 and NZE in 2060. We really appreciate the efforts made by PT SMI in the construction of the Bayang Nyalo PLTM," said Agung.
Previously, PT SMI has also provided a lot of support for development in the renewable energy sector. One of them is the 10 MW Dieng Small Scale PTLP project in Wonosobo, Central Java which is being worked on by PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero). This project is the first small-scale power plant in Indonesia.
PT SMI has various functions and unique products/features to support the acceleration of infrastructure development. This does not only function as infrastructure financing, but also as an enabler through the implementation of the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) scheme that involves various financial institutions, both private and multilateral. PT SMI actively supports the implementation of PPPs and encourages the acceleration of infrastructure development in the regions through regional loan products.
PT SMI has three business pillars. First, financing and investing in infrastructure projects. SMI also offers consulting services, namely solutions to the needs of professionals and experts in infrastructure. In addition, SMI also assists the Cooperation Project Manager (PJPK) to prepare infrastructure projects.
