First time receiving a Moody's rating, PT SMI recorded an international rating of Baa2

Jakarta, 3 April 2024 – PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT SMI) recorded a proud achievement at the beginning of 2024. The Company received an international rating of Baa2 (Stable Outlook) from Moody's Ratings, equivalent to the rating of the Republic of Indonesia. This is the first year that PT SMI has received a rating from Moody's, a trusted rating agency and one of the three largest credit rating agencies in the world.

PT SMI's Director of Operations and Finance, Darwin Trisna Djajawinata, appreciated the recognition from Moody's, through the provision of this good rating. "Of course this assessment justifies the reputation that PT SMI has as a Special Mission Vehicle under the Ministry of Finance, which has shown quite good performance so far. But of course everything can be achieved thanks to the hard work of our employees, who we call SMIers, as well as the support and trust of stakeholders. "Our next task is to maintain and even improve our rating to an even better level," said Darwin.

This rating adds to the other ratings that PT SMI already has, namely international BBB and national AAA (outlook stable) from Fitch Ratings and national idAAA (outlook stable) from Pefindo. The national rating 'AAA' indicates the highest rating given on the national rating scale for the country of Indonesia.

“Investors rely on ranking results as their guide in considering investments. "This additional rating from Moody's will also increase investor confidence in us, a company that has a consistent and stable credit profile," added Darwin.

The rating given reflects the rating agency's assessment that PT SMI receives significant support from the Indonesian Government. This rating shows PT SMI's strong position as an important entity with large infrastructure financing potential, a strong capital profile and good liquidity indicators, indicating PT SMI's readiness to support the Indonesian Government's national development agenda. PT SMI's performance and contribution in accelerating national development is also considered to have provided broad benefits and supports the Government's steps in advancing the economy and sustainable development in Indonesia. In carrying out its business and operational activities, PT SMI always adheres to the principles of Good Corporate Governance, in order to continue to maintain the trust of stakeholders.
