Ministry of Finance's SMV Synergy to Realize Renewable Energy Strengthening in Indonesia

The government targets the composition of renewable energy sources to national energy by 23% by 2025, where the geothermal sector becomes a priority sector as stated in the 2018-2027 Electricity Supply General Plan (RUPTL) issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In order to make this happen, the Ministry of Finance's Special Mission Vehicles, namely PT SMI and PT PII, supported PT Geo Dipa Energi to work together to realize the strengthening of renewable energy in Indonesia. Witnessed by Finance Minister Ibu Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PT SMI and PT Geo Dipa Energi signed a Financing Facility Letter for the construction of the Dieng Small Scale Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP). This financing facility of U$19 million from PT SMI will support PT Geo Dipa Energi to increase electricity production capacity to 270 MW by 2023. On this occasion, PT Geo Dipa Energi also carried out symbolic groundbreaking for PLTP Unit 2 Dieng and Patuha Projects, each with a capacity of 60 MW. The overall effort is a concrete step in the synergy of the Ministry of Finance's SMV in providing environmentally friendly energy that will mitigate the impact of climate change and in line with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
