PT SMI Gives Another IDR 343.4 Billion Loan to Help Improve Gianyar Infrastructure
Jakarta (04/05). PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (“PT SMI” or “Company”) as one of the Special Mission Vehicles (“SMV”) under the coordination of the Ministry of Finance (“Kemenkeu”) has successfully obtained ISO 37001 certification: Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) in March 2021. PT SMI is the first Ministry of Finance SMV to achieve this certification. The symbolic handover of the ISO 37001 certificate from PT Sucofindo to PT SMI was carried out on Tuesday 4 May 2021 by Mrs. Herliana Dewi – Commercial Director I of PT Sucofindo (Persero) to Mr. Edwin Syahruzad – President Director of PT SMI. This event was also attended by Mrs. Sumiyati – Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Aminudin – Director of Anti Corruption KPK for Business Entities, as well as invited guests from officials from the Ministry of Finance, BPKP, OJK, the Board of Commissioners and the Sharia Supervisory Board of PT SMI. The ceremonial ceremony for the submission of the ISO 37001 certificate is also a place for online gathering with PT SMI stakeholders.
PT SMI always maintains integrity and embodies good governance in all of its business activities. PT SMI is committed to running a business professionally and in accordance with good corporate governance, including striving to prevent the practice of corruption and improve anti-bribery compliance. PT SMI’s efforts to prevent, detect and overcome bribery that may occur within the Company are proven by obtaining ISO 37001 certification. PT SMI views that this achievement is a form of the Company’s responsibility towards the Government’s commitment to building an anti-corruption climate in accordance with Supreme Court regulation No. 13/2016 concerning Procedures for Handling Criminal Cases by Corporations.
“We always maintain business integrity and prevent corrupt practices both internally by PT SMI and all stakeholders, in accordance with the spirit of i-Sprint which is the corporate culture where integrity is the most important value to uphold. In addition, as a form of commitment, we have implementing the Whistleblowing System (SPP) since 2014 which is a web-based Whistleblowing System (WBS), as a means of reporting any violations committed by employees or Company officials on the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct and Good Corporate Governance Guidelines”, said Mr. Edwin Syahruzad in his speech at this event.
Other efforts made by PT SMI in implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) are to collaborate and always coordinate with various parties authorized in law enforcement and supervision, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission, Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Finance, the Audit and Development Agency, Financial Services Authority, Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administration, and other related parties.
By obtaining ISO 37001 certification, the Company hopes to increase its credibility as an organization that adheres to government regulations and is anti-bribery, has guidelines for preventing corruption, while providing assurance to stakeholders that the Company has implemented anti-bribery controls.
Director of Corruption for Corruption Eradication of Corruption Eradication Corruption Eradication Commission, Mr. Aminudin, stated that the KPK appreciates PT SMI who won the ISO 37001 certificate, but the value of integrity which is PT SMI’s corporate value needs to be maintained, and the implementation of the SMAP at PT SMI needs to be applied effectively to achieve Company objectives.
The Ministry of Finance, represented by the Inspector General, Mrs. Sumiyati, in the closing words of this event, welcomed positively and gave appreciation to PT SMI for obtaining this certification and it is hoped that in the future the ISO 37001 certificate achieved by PT SMI will become a framework for building integrity in the Company and efforts to mitigate risks to remain maintain the mandate and meet the expectations of the Government to accelerate Indonesia’s development.
