Jakarta, December 16, 2024 - PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (“PT SMI” or the “Company”) has provided financing facilities to PT Nusantara Tembesi Baru Energi (PT NTBE) worth USD 23.3 million. The financing facility is distributed for the construction of the Tembesi Floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) project in Batam, with a capacity of 46 MWp. The PLTS Tembesi project is included in the National Strategic Project category and is the second largest Floating Solar Project after PLTS Cirata.

The signing of the agreement was carried out at the PT SMI office, Sahid Sudirman Center Building, on Monday, December 16, 2024, by the Director of Financing and Investment of PT SMI, Sylvi J. Gani, President Director of PT NTBE, Mahzuri and Director of PT NTBE, Pria Fardio Syaiful Dinar. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by the President Director of PT SMI, Reynaldi Hermansjah, Plt. Director of Business Development and Commerce of PLN Nusantara Power, Dwi Hartono, Deputy President Director of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk, Pandu Sjahrir, and two Directors of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk, Mufti Utomo and Juli Oktarina.

PT SMI appreciates the realization of the agreement with PT NTBE, as well as the support from the project sponsors, namely PT PLN Nusantara Power, PT PLN Nusantara Renewable and PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk. "The climate crisis phenomenon has not escaped PT SMI's attention, one of which is by actively contributing to reducing carbon emissions through financing renewable energy projects. This agreement is an example of how collaboration between various parties from within and outside the country is very much needed to achieve the same goal. Hopefully, the Tembesi PLTS project can produce great benefits for the welfare of the surrounding community and also for environmental sustainability. We hope that cooperation like this will open up opportunities for other collaborations, for the availability of clean energy for the current and future generations," said President Director of PT SMI, Reynaldi Hermansjah.

The CO2 emissions that can be avoided from renewable energy projects that have been financed by PT SMI reach 1.55 million tons/year. PT SMI's financing in the electricity sector also encourages an increase in electricity capacity of 7.7 Gigawatts, of which 2 Gigawatts are from New Renewable Energy, such as Hydroelectric Power Plants and Minihydro, Solar Power Plants, Wind Power Plants, Biomass Power Plants, and Geothermal Power Plants. So that PT SMI helps light up 5.9 million households, equivalent to 23.6 million people.

PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk ("TBS") through its subsidiary PT NTBE expressed its appreciation for PT SMI's trust in providing this financing facility. "We are pleased with PT SMI's support in the Tembesi Floating PLTS project in Batam. We are very confident that this project will play an important role in strengthening the renewable energy mix in Batam and Indonesia as a whole. Through close collaboration with PLN Nusantara Power and PLN Batam, we want to create a strong synergy in providing affordable clean energy for the community," said Dimas Wibowo, President Director of PT Energi Baru TBS (PT EBT), a sub-holding of TBS that houses PT NTBE.

PLTS Tembesi is the largest New and Renewable Energy project in the Riau Islands (Kepri), which will accommodate energy needs in the region. With this PLTS, it is hoped that it can attract foreign investors to invest in Batam so that it can help strengthen the local economy. PLTS Trembesi Batam is currently undergoing the construction phase with a target of completing full commercial operations in the second to third quarter of 2025.
